lunar horizon

the horizon is the home's edge. is is the eye's frontier and the delineation of the known. af the door's threshold, the eye wanders: to the tips of trees, to the edge of a skyscraper, to the undulating the hills. the horizon transforms the viewer into a traveler. with an arrested gaze distance becomes palpable, visible, irresistible. the longing in instilled, the newborn traveler wants to annual, digest, conquer the space which separates him from such a far away line. yet, the horizon can never be touched. it is a always mirage, forever removed, infinitely receding.

the moon in the furthest place man has traveled to, 384.000 km away, an this utterly foreingn surface, and ance again, the horizon ! the lunar horizon is the horizon's ultimate incarnation. it is its furthest point of recession and the traveler's current frontier. a new exotism cloaks this horizon - no longer that of crashing waves or tropical birds - but one of unimaginable silence and mystery. day meets night: the luminiscent hills cut through the ink black sky as they good the wanderer on. ... the moon's horizon suggests a platform from which to jump. weightless and beyond lines, to the enveloping scattered stars.
