Artwork 2005-2011

Art is a language of emotion

I am an expressionist, concerned with human emotions. The making of art is my natural language of emotions - it is a natural way forme to process and express life experiences and the inner workings of the self.

Becoming an Artist originally was, for me, not a conscious decision, it was a natural consequence of how I process my emotions and life reflections, and such is done in the making of free visual art. By 'making of art', I mean: 'giving my full attention to emotions and giving the experience and consideration a proper visual form, with which to release the confusing energy into compassion. In a social context the artwork consequently promoter to  human heart and a stranger awareness of emotion life, which is yet unexplored and underestimated as an activity in our western culture.

Because I am a women, I find it very necessary to comment the patriarchy in art history; e.g. the female figure as an idealised and pleasurable object. In my artwork I am concerned about gender issues, especially the images and historical understanding of the female figure; i am trying to make more realistic images of women; complex feelings, a heart, fragility, strenght and failures in order to re-interpret images of women. To make artwork with which other women could be my subjects for art - I want the female figure to be alive rather than controlled.

Media-wise my work is inter-mediate, e.g. performance, costumes, graphics, photo-works, video, sculpture, tools, collages, drawing, etching, silk-screen work, paintings and so on.

Since art is not originally made to fit the capitalistic system of give and return in money, the artwork illuminates a free and personal process based on the character of the artist.

Getting older as an artist and thus aware of one's positions in society as a public artist, rather than a 'private artist', the artist is a responsive portaker of public activities, culture and pop visual media and yet the creative freedom of the artwork does not change
